Marsh2Marsh Bull

I worked for Fortune 500 Companies in my business career including Honeywell, American Express, First Data Corporation and IBM. My retirement hobbies include traveling, fishing, visiting family, writing and heading up the Men’s Group Foundation 501c3. I grew up in Omaha and have lived in Cincinnati, Chicago, Seattle and So CA before moving to Durango in 2005. I am married to Peggy and we have four children and four grand kids.  I believe kids are our future and the Boys & Girls Club consistently makes a significant, permanent positive impact on all that come to the Club. I like the idea we focus on Health, Education and Citizenship.  I am a Founder of the Boys & Girls Club of La Plata County and have been on BGC Boards for over 15 years.  Through my Co-Chair position on the BGC Colorado Alliance I help provide support for 17 Clubs in Colorado.

I work at Fort Lewis College as the Director of Health & Wellness. My favorite hobbies are exercising, camping, hiking, and all water sports! I’m from Corpus Christi TX and I have 3 children and a great partner! Two of my children currently attend the La Plata County Boys and Girls Club on a regular basis and I enjoy supporting the Club because I love that our local youth have the opportunity to spend their “free” time learning how to be healthy, productive leaders in our community(vs. couch potatoes).

I grew up in Durango and have just recently returned for good (I hope) with my wife and an empty nest. My educational and professional background is based in Health and Wellness. I have degrees in exercise physiology and human nutrition. I began my work with Boys and Girls Club in 2002 and took part in the formation of our La Plata County club as well as the Southern Ute Tribal club. I consider these community efforts two of the most important I have ever done. The impact of melding together positive adult role models with a welcoming club environment for a given child absolutely changes lives. I am proud to play any role I can to make that happen over and over again for our kids.

Kelsea Lovelace

I am a Durango native and currently work as the Brand Manager for the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. I am very passionate about education, youth development and authentic leadership as catalysts for a vibrant community. Without a background at the Club or children of my own, I’m often asked why I serve on the board. The answer is simple, I want to do all that I can to help, our youth realize their full potential. In my free time, I love to read and learn, cook, hunt, ski and play on our mini farm with my husband.

I work as an independent small business development consultant and as an advisor for the Fort Lewis College Small Business Development Center.  I am a co-founder of Durango Space, the first co-working facility in the Four Corners area. I grew up in New England and raised my daughter in California.  When I had a chance to relocate to Durango I jumped on the opportunity to move to the mountains.  I joined the Chamber and graduated with the 2005 Leadership La Plata class. I knew I had made the right decision about Durango when, in 2006, I met a small group of dedicated individuals who wanted to start a Boys & Girls Club.  From the planning stage to the Club opening in September 2007 and during the past nine years of Club operations, I’ve served as Board Marketing Chair, Board Vice President, and Board President. I am currently the Board Governance Chair which gives me the privilege of working closely with our staff and Club operations.

For 20 years, I served as the Chief Financial Officer for Ballantine Communications, Inc., VP-General Manager of Directory Plus, general manager of the Four Corners printing and oversaw Durango Herald Small Press.  In June of 2014 my wife Nancy and I decided to make a career change and we opened Express Employment Professionals.  I am active in several organizations, including Vice Chair of the Boys and Girls Club of La Plata County; Kiwanis, Salvation Army Board Member, SW Colorado Workforce Board Member.  My interest in the Boys and Girls Club began when my step daughter, a young mother of three young children, needed a place to put her oldest daughter after school, I had her reach out to the club in Aztec, NM.  Ashlynn thrived at the club in the two years she was there and I realized how much Boys and Girls Clubs have a positive impact and want to make sure the program continues.

The Boys & Girls Club has been an invaluable experience in my children’s life and mine. I have always been a full-time working mother. If it had not been for the Boys & Girls Club I’m not sure I could have raised my children and balanced my career as well. Now, after all the Club has given my family, I want to be able to contribute my time and skills to help serve.  I serve as the La Plata County Clerk and Recorder and am responsible for election administration, recording real property transactions, issuing marriage & civil union licenses & vehicle registrations. I am honored to be the fourth generation to live on the Lee Family property off of County Road 240 but a sixth generation Colorado resident!

A special thank you to Pat, who has just completed 10 years of board service!

I joined the Boys & Girls Club Board in 2006 during its formation, to help provide positive youth development opportunities not previously available to the youth of La Plata County.  I am a shareholder in a local CPA firm, Tafoya Barrett and Associates PC, married to my beautiful wife Lisa, and have two adult children just beginning their careers.  I moved to Colorado in 1981 to attend the University of Northern Colorado, where I earned an accounting degree, and after working in the accounting field in Greeley and Denver, CO for 15 years, I relocated to Durango in 2001. I enjoy skiing, mountain biking, camping and hiking.
